Charitable Structure

The Dresden Trust is a charitable trust established under English law and run solely by volunteers. Its managerial body - the Board of Trustees - has always represented many different fields of expertise and experience, such as politics and diplomacy, the church and academic life, business and administration. The Trust's office is now located in the British-German Association's headquarters in London.

Alan Russell has been chairman of the Dresden Trust since its foundation nearly 20 years ago. Passionately believing that reconciliation depends on mutual understanding of history and culture, he has masterminded all of the Trust’s major initiatives. Graduate of economics, history and historic conservation, he believes too that the Dresden Phoenix has much to teach us all.
